Facial massage improves the appearance of skin in a myriad of ways. First and foremost, it creates ‘that glow’ the well-rested healthy glow that can’t be re-created with products. It can reduce facial lines it boosts the circulation and relaxes the facial muscles. Lymphatic drainage is also improved, and puffiness reduced.
How often should you have a facial?
For best results your skin would benefits from a facial every 3-4 weeks. This follows the natural cycle of skin cells, which renew along those time times. If you have acne prone skin, then you could benefit from a facial more frequently.
What is Gua Sha facial massage?
Exercise for your face! - with general massage gua sha can tone and promote increase skin elasticity. The ‘scraping’ technique used gently moves waste material to your lymph nodes under your ears and into the neck. Over time your skin is lifted for a more tone firm appearance.

What are the benefits of pressure point massage?
Pressure point massage is a therapy specifically designed to alleviate the source of pain through isolated pressure and release. I use small circular motions to apply pressure for around 5 seconds before releasing and repeating a further two times. The benefits are relieving stress, tension and anxiety, improves sleep, boost your mood by producing serotonin, increase blood flow to and from the skin.
Why does skin heat up during massage?
When you massage the body heat is generated, which is transferred to the tissues via the friction from the hands/elbow/fingers. In turn, this heat causes the blood vessels in the area to dilate leading to an increase of blood into the area.
What are ‘muscle knots’?
Muscle knots are small bump like areas of muscle fibers. These knots occur when muscles fibers tense and tighten from overuse, strain or even trauma. When a muscle is overused or injured the tightening effect protects the area from further injury - a guarding response.
How can you reduce muscle soreness after massage?
Stay hydrated! Hydrated muscles are healthy muscles, applying some gentle heat after will also help with the blood flow and healing process.
